Our Daycare Centre

“Play is the highest form of research.”
— Albert Einstein

A Homey EnvironmentAT BRIGHT DAYS, we understand that each child is unique and our Early Childhood Educators work with parents to ensure the smoothest transition possible from the home environment, or previous child care facilities, to our daycare centre. Our daycare provides a clean and modern environment for each child as the classrooms have large windows for lots of natural light, and blinds for during nap time. Our child to Educator ratios align with government regulations and ensures that the group size is small enough to provide the one-on-one attention that each child deserves.

The outdoor playground is just steps away from the daycare entrance, allowing access to outdoor play every day. The classrooms are set up to ensure a safe, fun, and dynamic environment for the children. They are filled with educational toys that foster physical, sensory, make-believe, creative and intellectual development.

Childhood Educator with childEARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING is critical for the first 5 years of your child’s life. Having different classrooms for each age group allows us to create an environment that will be most conducive to learning and development based on the age of the child. Bright Days has a custom curriculum for each age group. This ensures that the learning and development that we offer at Bright Days is focused on the right stages of development for your child based on their age, as opposed to a “one size fits all” approach.

MINDFULNESS PRACTICES are incorporated throughout each day when implementing the curriculum, which are play based activities. We believe that there is no age too young to start learning and practicing mindfulness. Research has shown that mindfulness practice decreases stress and anxiety, increases attention, improves social- emotional skills, strengthens compassion, as well as many other benefits. WE ARE PART OF YOUR COMMUNITY. Bright Days is conveniently located at 1301 Spring Creek Drive, just a short drive or walk to downtown Canmore. All programs run Monday to Friday. We are closed on statutory holidays.

Outdoor play OUR ZERO SCREEN TIME POLICY is an important part of our development and learning philosophy at Bright Days. Extensive screen time in early childhood is shown to have lasting effects on a child’s language development, reading skills, and short term memory. At Bright Days, your child will have the opportunity to learn through interacting with the Early Childhood Educators and other children throughout the day.

OUTDOOR PLAY EVERY DAY is another component of our program. The outdoors is the very best place for little ones to practice and master emerging physical and motor skills. However, the outdoors has something more to offer than just physical benefits. Cognitive and social/emotional development are impacted too. The changing nature of the outdoors makes it an incredibly stimulating and multi-sensory place to play.
